Why does my Brother toner cartridge have a sticker that says ';Removal of this sticker may void warranty?';?

It's on the right side. What is it covering or hiding?





I heard there is a sensor on these cartridges that shuts down the printer when the toner is low, but before the toner cartridge is actually out of toner. The printer is supposed to work again if you cover the sensor with electrical tape. It doesn't seem that tape would be placed over a sensor, but could that be it?Why does my Brother toner cartridge have a sticker that says ';Removal of this sticker may void warranty?';?
The sticker is probably covering some access port that was used to fill the toner in the first place. If you disturb that and then the cartridge doesn't work any longer (before it runs out) you can't go after them for a warranty issue. The sticker is there so you don't void the cartage's warranty. If the sensors get damaged or the toner leaks brother won't cover you,as long as the Original sticker has been removed.
