single compound toner has both an iron content as well as a polymeric
element that melts into 'ink' when it goes through the fuser.
the drum utilizes an electrostatic method to attract toner to it as an image. the wast toner is passed to the wast chamber in the cartridge.
because it has been subject to this electrostatic charge,it won't attract
to the drum like virgin toner would.this would work on some copiers
and printers for draft, but the print quality is degraded.some equpment
wont work at all.ie:Brother. HP works, but noticably poorer.
I havn't personally tried Kyocera,so you would have to experiment
with reloading yourself and check the results.
color and multi part toner will not work at all,as it is mixed, and cannot
be re used.
cross brand toner usually wont work either. ie:cannon toner in HP.
